Jewel of the day: Delfina Delettrez Expression Collar
I’m a fan of Delfina Delletrez’s quirky, almost Surrealist approach to jewellery design. This Expression Collar is, she says, inspired by the Victorian fascination with hair jewellery, often used in mourning pieces. Called “Love is in the hair” it features an enamel eye, bright red lips and sterling silver insects embedded in a clear resin face.
It looks more to me like a jewellery mash-up of an Hermes collier de chien bracelet, and a fun 50s lucite pin, crossed with a bit of Schiaparelli whimsy…
