Jewel of the day: Enfants Perdus Pueraria Triad stud earrings

Artisans of all things Goth and dark, these are earrings don’t require a dark bent to wear. Made of oxidized sterling silver with 18 karat gold accents, they are USD $190. A nice way to indulge your Goth side without necessarily flaunting skulls, bones or feathers.

Jewel of the day: Twilight Saga: New Moon Bella’s Cullen crest ring

Another shout-out to the Twilight series fans, with this ring featuring the Cullen family crest and made for the New Moon film. It’s available for USD $250 and is sterling silver with red and green enamel.

Jewel of the day: Twilight series-Bella’s wedding ring

Props made for movies generally aren’t readily available to the general public. But Stephanie Myers’s Twilight series has generated a huge fan base and it’s to be expected that items made for the films are also available to you.

For fans of the jewellery worn by the Cullen family, Artisan’s Designs, have made available a fairly comprehensive range. (I confess to not having seen the films so I can’t say for sure…) Here, available for purchase, is the wedding ring worn by Bella.  There are many more pieces on the web site for die hard aficionados.

The wedding ring in sterling and cubic zirconia is USD $799. It can also be ordered in gold and diamonds.

Tomorrow, the family crest ring…

Jewel of the day: Mushka “Hitched” ring

Not a candidate for the glitz and glitter thrown at you by the wedding industry? Want to celebrate your union with wit and for less than a few thou? Miami based Sara Wilson, in her Mushka line, offers these Hitched rings.  For a mere USD $133 apiece, proclaim the end of your single days loud and clear. And if things don’t turn out well, you can always add UN instead of getting rid of the ring completely… Available at Artisan LA.

Jewel of the day: Elizabeth Plumb hanging gold circles bracelet

The sculptural quality of this bracelet intrigues me… Made of hand hammered gold fill circles accented with a faceted aquamarine, strung with oxidized sterling silver chain, it closes with a gold fill “S” hook clasp. Plumb may also be familiar to readers through the Sundance Catalog. This piece sells for USD $95.

Jewel of the day: KT Collection hammered silver necklace

For a simple piece, this has a lot of visual appeal. The hammered links provide interesting texture and light play and at 38 inches long, this can be worn several ways. Available from New York designer KT Collection for USD $165.

Jewel of the day: Mawi hematite honeycomb cuff

This metal cuff, categorized as part of Mawi’s “Pretty Tough” collection, could be worn by a man or a woman. The colour and metal contribute to the kind of rocker vibe that’s always popular, no matter the trends. Available from Mawi’s web site for £392.00. Find out more about the line here.

Jewel of the day: Lulu Frost horn bow necklace

Made of horn with a fabric tie closure on brass rings, this pretty link necklace is a nice way to edge into (gasp) fall and a bit more formality. Available from Lulu Frost for USD $370 on her web site  (it also comes with different coloured bows).

Jewel of the day: Kris Nations orchid cuff

Owned by sisters Kris and Kim Nations, the line features light, airy designs made from recycled metals and sterling silver. This orchid cuff is gold plate, and flexes slightly to allow for easy wear. Available for USD $85.

Jewel of the day: Lagi Nadeau Rai drop earrings

Michigan born and FIT-trained, the New Jersey resident fuses vitage components and semi-precious stones. These Rai earrings are made of 14k vermeil with vintage gold plated charms and gold filled hooks, measuring 3-1/2 inches long. They are USD $150 on Nadeau’s site.
