Jewel of the day: Tiffany Keys Heart Pendant

When Tiffany launched its keys collection a few years ago, it was extremely popular. The key motif has since been made available in gold, with or without diamonds, in silver, and in silver with enamel. This one features a heart enamelled in Tiffany robin’s egg blue; should you need to show someone some heart for Valentine’s Day this year, it is USD$150; the 16 inch chain is an additional USD$50.

Jewel of the day: Miriam Haskell Red Lip Pin

Miriam Haskell is beloved by vintage jewellery collectors, and has managed to keep the brand alive and thriving in an era when cheap mall stores have pretty much taken over costume jewellery offerings.

So while it’s great that the brand has stayed relevant, I’m not quite sure what to make of this: red lips beaded as per Haskell’s style, on a safety pin. I’m not quite sure who the customer is that they are appealing to as it’s quite outside their usual style and presumably customer base, but if it’s you, this costs USD$320 – rock on.

Jewel of the day: Hermes Hinged Enamel Bracelet

Until recently, Hermes enamels came in a bangle you slipped over your hand, or in their Clic Clac H bracelet, which opened with a small H logo turned to one side. Now they also offer an enamel with a bulbous hinge on the front; it’s also available in plain colours and printed designs. Hermes has also hopped onto the rose gold bandwagon (this is also available in palladium/silver tone plate, as well a yellow gold metal).

This sells for USD$660 and is available in different widths and sizes.

Jewel of the day: Mariah Carey’s Engagement Ring

Nothing quite says “I love you” like a 39 carat emerald cut engagement ring given while both the fiance and fiancee are still married to others. But it’s the intent that counts.

Mariah Carey is sporting this bauble, made by Wilfredo Rosado (who is perhaps better known for more outrageous creations than this somewhat staid and classic – despite its size – ring), given to her by Australian magnate James Packer.

Mazel tov to the new couple I guess. She gets his Scientology and he gets her crazy. Seems like a fair trade.

Jewel of the day: BaubleBar Asymmetrical Falkor Ear Crawler Set

This is a lot of earring, but also a lot of fun. By Baublebar, they offer two earrings with two very different looks (which is fine, given that one ear lobe will be mega dressed while the other one, not so much.)

The site notes, “Olivia Palermo Guest Bartender Collection. Deep garnet lends a fiery feel to this feathered ear crawler, paired with a gem stud to even out the look. This asymmetrical set consists of 2 pieces – a left side ear crawler and a right side stud.” This ships no later than February 10, and sells for USD$38.

Jewel of the day: Perez Bitan Knuckle Ring

This is an interesting concept for a ring, spanning several fingers and not requiring an actual ring size. Also not terribly useful anywhere people might need to wear winter gloves or mittens. By Perez Bitan, it is offered by LA’s Roseark. It is made of 18k yellow gold and sells for USD$1980.

Jewel of the day: Bony Levy Crossover Three Row Diamond Bangle Bracelet

Bony Levy offers an array of delicate and often diamond set pieces meant for stacking. This bracelet, exclusive to Nordstrom in the US, gives you the illusion of a bunch of bracelets in one, with one “strand” set with white diamonds, and the other two with black diamonds.

They are set in 18k white gold, and sell for USD$4,495.

Jewel of the day: Michal Golan Confetti Oval on Chain Necklace

If painter Gustav Klimt had made jewelry, I think it might have looked something like the work of Israeli jeweller Michal Golan.

It is made of brass electroplated with 24k gold combined with hematite, african turquoise, carnelian, tiger eye, lapis and green jade and sodalite. The site says it measures 30 inches by 4 inches, which is obviously incorrect (perhaps they meant to use metric measures?)

It sells for USD$150 and is part of Golan’s Confetti collection.

Jewel of the day: Anne Koplik Designs Art Deco Style Earrings

Art Deco retains its appeal nearly a hundred years after it first appeared. The geometric lines are still so very wearable. Here, a pair of enamel and Swarovski crystal earrings by Anne Koplik. Her site notes, “These beautiful Art Deco style leverback earrings from Anne Koplik Designs feature a blue focal crystal and multiple clear Swarovski Crystals on a dark indigo and silver plated brass setting. They measure approximately 2 inches long (total drop length as measured from the top of the leverback to the bottom of the earring) by 1/2 inches wide.”

More about the designer: “Anne Koplik Designs is a collection of hand-made, vintage-inspired jewelry featuring Swarovski crystals. In fact, Swarovski has honored Anne Koplik Designs as one of their top jewelry designers. Anne Koplik Designs uses only the finest materials including Swarovski Elements, semi-precious stones, antique glass beads and exclusive hand enameling. Each piece is individually designed and produced in the USA in their New York studio with lead-free, nickel-free and cadmium-free metals.

These sell for USD$34.95.

Jewel of the day: Meira T Yellow Gold and Diamond Disc Earrings

There’s a lot to be said for a simple pair of earrings that have a bit of sparkle and don’t need to be worried about or fussed over. These yellow gold discs set with a strip of pave diamonds from Meira T fill the bill nicely. They are made with 14k yellow gold set with .27 carats of white diamonds, and sell for USD$950. As of the time of writing, the site noted a discount code of 30% but it’s not clear if that is reflected in the price shown, or is in addition to. Please contact the seller to determine the actual pricing.
