Inspired by moonlight, these sapphire and diamond earrings by Selim Mouzannar provide a refreshing alternative to the usual spare diamond studs.
About the designer: Born in 1963, Selim Mouzannar was brought up surrounded by gemstones and gold. His grandfather as well as his father are also jewelers. Selim’s earliest memories come from his frequent visits to the Gold Souk of Beirut where he learned the basics of the jewelry industry.
In 1980, when the war had long started in Lebanon, Selim decided to move abroad, and to complement his artistic skills, he obtained a Management diploma. He then left the family nest to Paris where he graduated from the Institut National de Gemmologie.
After expanding his experience to Belgium and Saudi Arabia, Selim then moved to Thailand. Avid to understand all the various stages of the business, he worked in a Ruby mine on the Thai-Cambodian border.
Taking his international ventures and amazing life experiences, Selim then returned to his roots in Beirut where he opened his workshop in 1993 followed by his own shop. Expanding his collections abroad. Selim Mouzannar officially launched in 2009 in Paris, London, Istanbul, Geneva & Dubai, and finally this year in the U.S.”
These are set in 18k rose gold with just under a half carat of diamonds. The sapphire weight is not noted. Available at Ylang 23, these sell for USD$3,880.
