Jewel of the day: Carolina Bucci 15 Strand Lazy Lucky Bracelet

Carolina Bucci is perhaps best known for the tie them yourself single strand bracelets (and frankly, I could never figure out how those were supposed to stay on). This has a clasp, making things easier and more obvious.

This one is in a colour way she has dubbed ocean, fitting for its blues and greens. Her site notes, “The Lucky Bracelet is Carolina Bucci’s take on the classic cotton friendship bracelets of her childhood. The Lazy Lucky bracelet is for those who wish to get the look of layered Luckys without having to tie each bracelet.  18k yellow, white, pink, black or brown gold diamond-cut chain, hand braided with set combinations of silk and finished with a two-pronged clasp, these bracelets feature 15 Lucky strands. This bracelet is meant to be worn alone or layered with any of our Lucky bracelets. Each bracelet is approximately 17cm long, and can be made to your desired length if required. Please note that each piece is made by hand, resulting in slight variations in length.”

This sells for £6,530.

Jewel of the day: Carolina Bucci Recharmed 18-karat gold multi-stone necklace

Although its genesis is different, this is for me reminiscent of the Buddhist mala strand (beads that can be used/worn as a bracelet or a necklace and are an aid to meditation), this necklace by Carolina Bucci is pretty tactile. Net-A-Porter notes, “Carolina Bucci’s necklace is inspired by one-of-a-kind vintage charms found nestled in a drawer in her Florentine workshop. This handcrafted, limited edition piece is strung with smooth eagle eye and sunset stones – in complementary shades of peach, pink and gray – and punctuated with 3.40-carats of shimmering pink sapphires set in 18-karat gold links.

It sells for USD$1,320.

Jewel of the day: Carolina Bucci Woven Gold and Silk Bracelet

I looked at Carolina Bucci’s gold and silk friendship bracelets a few years ago but couldn’t quite figure out how they closed. As in, really, you’re supposed to tie this thing on with a knot (with one hand) and hope it stays on? But I can’t see the same wearability issues with this 18k white gold and silk woven bracelet.

It looks sinuous and luxurious and for USD$10,800 I’m sure it is the latter (and it has a polished gold clasp, making the former a given). Available from Net-A-Porter.

Jewel of the day: Carolina Bucci Carnevale rings

Carolina Bucci is perhaps best known for her woven gold and silk thread “Lucky” bracelets. I was surprised to find that the label offers many other designs and themes, including this cheery Carnevale collection.

The rings feature enamel and 18k yellow gold charms and components, providing a lot of movement. They also look like they would be a great and fun stacking option. Not sure of the price (though you can check stockists here) but these could also be a nice option for a teen’s special occasion.
